Old Wood

Biomass Heating...

Greenhouse peeks.JPG

In order to reduce our use of fossil fuels, we recently installed a biomass boiler system. This boiler burns wood pellets that we make from locally grown waste pecan shells.

Not only is it better for the environment because we are no longer relying solely on fossil fuels for heating our greenhouse, but we are also using a local waste product that in the burning process doesn't release any more carbon dioxide into the environment than if it were to decompose naturally, and the left over ash that comes from the burning process is re-used in our Veganic growing system to fertilize our plants.
